Novovorontsovskiy district is situated in the north-east region of the oblast on the right coast of the Kahovske water reservoir on the distance 165 km from the region centre (Kherson) and borders with Dnipropetrovska oblast. Motoway of republican significance Dnipropetrovsk – Kherson passes through district. Presence of the bays and quays along Kahovske water reservoir allows use the waterway.
The areaof district is 100 thousand hectares that compounds 3,6% from the floor space of Kherson oblast. The population of the district is 22,6 thousand people. There are 19 villages and the settlementof urban type in the district.
